Beijing Tour and Chen Village Training

May 28 - June 7, 2019

   • Travel to China with Chen Huixian as your Tour Guide!
   • Spend 3 Days and 4 Night touring some Beijing’s most famous and historic sites    • Travel to Henan Province to stay in Chenjiagou, the birthplace of Taijiquan.
   • Train with Chen Huixian in her home village of Chenjiagou.
   • Visit the historical Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang City and the ancient city of Kaifeng.

Itinerary:

May 28 (Thursday) - Depart the U.S.
• We will be departing from MCI in Kansas City
• If you are departing from another city, please plan to arrive in Zhengzhou (CGO) Friday June 7th

May 29 (Friday) - Arrive in Beijing, China:
• Bus from Airport to Beijing hotel
• Check into Beijing hotel
• Rest, dinner, and a good night's sleep

May 30, 31, & June 1 (Sat., Sun., Mon.) - Sightseeing in Beijing:
• Breakfast at the hotel each morning
• Beijing Sightseeing Tour this year includes:
   - Tienanmen Square (天安门)
   - Forbidden City (故宫)
   - Great Wall (长城)
   - Ming Tombs (明十三陵)
   - Temple to Heaven park (天壇)
   - Summer Palace park (頤和園)
   - Olympic Park/ Bird's Nest Stadium (鸟巢)
• Includes lunch and dinner nightly
   - Enjoy the local cuisine of the Chinese capital
   - Join us for dinner at a World Famous Beijing Duck restaurant

June 2 (Tuesday) - Travel to Chenjiagou:
• Breakfast at the hotel
• Bus to Beijing Airport
• Flight from Beijing to Zhengzhou city, Henan Province
• Travel from Zhengzhou Airport to Chenjiagou
• Arrive in Chenjiagou; Check into Chenjiagou Hotel;
• Evening to relax / walk around
• Lunchand dinner in Chenjiagou

June 3 (Wednesday) - Luoyang City, White Horse Temple, Longmen Grottoes:
• Beakfast in Chenjiagou
• Bus to Luoyang City
• Tour The Longmen Grottoes (or Longmen Caves). This World Heritage Site is regarded as one of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art, and one of the most famous treasure houses of stone inscriptions in all of China. There are as many as 100,000 statues inside more than 2,000 caves that range in sizes from 1-inch to 50-feet tall, as well as more than 60 Buddhist pagodas.
• Tour White Horse Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China, founded in 68 A.D.
• Lunch in Luoyang: We will eat the famous Luoyang cuisine known and “Shuixi” or the “Water Banquet”. This is a 24-course meal, served one course at a time like flowing water. Each course consists of a single meat and / or vegetable dish cooked or boiled in various broths, gravies, and juices. It is a Chinese custom in Luoyang that dates back a thousand years.
• Dinner in Chenjiagou

June 4 (Thursday) - Kaifeng:
• Breakfast in Chenjiagou
• Bus to Luoyang City
• Bus to Kaifeng
• Visit Millennium City Park, a “Renaissance Festival” of Chinese History and Culture, where over 1,000 actors, street performers, and acrobats reenact ancient events from the mythical to the mundane.
• Lunch of Kaifeng specialty “Xiao Long Bao Zi” or “Steamed Small Meat Dumplings or Rolls”
• Dinner in Chenjiagou

June 5 (Friday) - Chenjiagou Training then Sightseeing/Packing
• Breakfast in Chenjiagou
• Morning Taijiquan Training Session
• Lunch in Chenjiagou
• Afternoon Free time for packing or sightseeing
• Dinner in Chenjiagou

June 6 (Saturday) - Leave Chenjiagou and Return to Zhengzhou:
• Breakfast in Chenjiagou
• Check out of Chenjiagou Hotel
• Bus to Zhengzhou
• Free afternoon and evening in Zhengzhou; Rest / Shopping / Massage

June 7 (Sunday) - Depart China and Return to USA:
• Early Breakfast at the Hotel
• Early morning bus to the airport for departing flight
• Arrive back in the USA



Costs:

Shared Room: $1,900 USD, plus Round-trip Airfare to China
Single Room: $2,100 USD, plus Round-trip Airfare to China
  * A non refundable 50% deposit is required on or before February 1st, 2020 in order to hold this pricing.

Cost Include:
• Hotel Accommodations (4-nights in Beijing, 4-nights in Chenjiagou, 1-night in Zhengzhou)
• Meals
• Tours and Performances Admission
• Transportation fees
• Chen Village Training with Chen Huixian

Not Included:
• Any spontaneous tours, meals, or unplanned outings, such as shopping, massage, acupuncture, treatments, etc.
• Any Room Service or Pay-per-View charges at the Hotels
Round-trip Airfare from US to China is not included. We are happy to book your flights with ours or provide you all the necessary information to book your own flights. We estimate between $1,600 and $2,000 per person.
• U.S. Passport or Chinese Visa Fees. You will need a valid U.S. Passport and a Chinese Tourist Visa for this trip. We can help you with this process as well.
