Chen Huixian Seminar in St. Louis



Master Chen will be conducting two seminars in St. Louis, MO on Saturday January 30th and Sunday January 31st.






Saturday, January 30th, 1:00pm - 4:00pm - Chen Taiji Push-Hands

Master Chen will be teaching the 8 basic movements of Chen Taijiquan, the Taiji Ba Fa. These 8 Silk Reeling and Fajin movements can be found throughout all the main styles of Taiji, and are essential points of study for any serious Taiji practitioner. This class will also cover Chen Taiji Push Hands training techniques. These are single and double-hand partner exercises that bridge the gap from Taiji form to combat and self-defense application. They are performed with both restricted and moving steps.

Sunday, January 31st, 10:30am - 5:30pm - Chen Zhenglei's 18-Movement Form

Master Chen will be teaching this short 18-posture form designed by her uncle, Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei. It utilizes 18 essential movements from the 74-posture Old Frame First Routine (LaoJia Yilu) condensed into a shorter form that takes less time to learn and less time to practice. It is an ideal short form for today’s hectic schedules and busy life-styles. It also helps you train the basics of Chen Taiji and prepares you for the transition into the traditional long form.
This class will also cover the basics of Chen style Taiji, including Warm-ups, Silk Reeling exercises, and Zhan Zhuang standing meditation qigong.


First Session (10:30am - 1:30pm):
  • Warm-up exercises
  • Chen style Taiji Silk Reeling exercises
  • Zhan Zhuang training
  • Teach the first half of Chen Zhenglei’s 18- Movements form
